Dig Rules

Most important thing is insurance, if you can bring it along to your first dig that would be great, North Detecting Events takes no responsibility for your personal safety if no insurance is held.

All farms have an agreed limit for finds, so most are £500 and some £750.
What does this mean? if you find an item that is not reportable under the treasure act but holds value above those limits depending on location, it is your responsibility to declare the find and pay the farmer the share with assistance from myself. Non declaration of finds will result in removal from the group.

Guests are welcome in the same car as a paid membership, however this is limited to two visits per year, if further visits are required then a membership purchase is required.

Let’s not sound like a broken record, however it’s important that Holes are filled and put back correctly, We have land in early crop for later in the year, so crop will need to go back to its near original position if possible.

No approaches to our farmers for private digs, I have assurances that any attempts from our secured land will result in removal from the group and details shared with neighbouring groups.

Photography, Drones and social media, all of these forms of filming will need to be agreed via myself before commencing on site if agreed please keep buildings and landmarks out of your media. Also members have privacy witch needs respecting.

Farmers are entitled to the usual treasure rules of 50% all finds of historical importance need declaring with the FlO.

Detecting is a great hobby with people from all backgrounds and walks of life in pursuit of the same thing, some for history and some for the chance of financial gain, as long as the land is respected we should treat everyone with respect, basically no name calling or bullying.

Each dig fee is set on the events page.

Other dig organisers are welcome, but please no disrespecting this group on other platforms.

I’m easy going and approachable, so please feel free to ask anything, have fun, stay safe and thanks for booking.
